This product is ideal for sealing and varnishing all types of interior timbers and can also be used externally on hardwood garden furniture. When applying to bare wood, it is recommended to use three coats to achieve a hard, water-resistant, low-sheen finish. Once the project is fully dry, buff the surfaces with a lint-free cloth and then wipe over with a damp cloth to maintain the finish. For external use, be aware that the product does not provide UV protection, so it may be necessary to apply oil once a year.
Apply the product by brush or cloth, ensuring to wipe off any excess oil after 15 minutes to prevent prolonged drying times. Re-apply only when the previous coat is dry, allowing a minimum of 4 hours between coats. When using a large container, it is crucial to keep stirring the oil during use, as the drying agent tends to settle at the bottom. If this happens, applying the remnants can result in a white residue due to the excess drying agent, which is very difficult to rectify.
To avoid this issue, ensure the oil is well-mixed throughout the application process. This will help achieve a consistent finish and prevent the appearance of the white residue. Proper application and maintenance will enhance the durability and appearance of your timber projects, both indoors and out.
